Is About
This two‑day masterclass is built for aspiring videographers, in‑house content teams and working creatives who want to develop genuine, end‑to‑end production craft. Day one covers the fundamentals of professional camera operation, exposure theory, lighting design and shooting for the edit — so every frame you capture is already working toward the finished film. Day two moves into post‑production: colour grading on DaVinci Resolve’s Colour page, sound design, audio mastering in Fairlight, transitions and advanced visual effects. You will leave with a fully graded, mixed and exported film produced across the two days, a personal reference manual and a production workflow you can use on every project going forward.

Curriculum
What We Cover
Day 1 — Camera Operation, Exposure & Shooting Theory
Take full manual control of a professional camera. Understand the exposure triangle — aperture, shutter speed and ISO — and how each affects image quality, depth of field and motion blur. Learn frame rates, codec selection, colour science and how to expose correctly for log or flat profiles. Explore shooting theory: coverage, shot types, continuity and the 180‑degree rule.
Day 1 — Lighting Design & Shooting for the Edit
Build and control light with intention. Understand the qualities of hard and soft light, work with three‑point setups, practise location lighting with natural and artificial sources, and learn to shape, flag and diffuse light for different subjects. Then learn to shoot for the edit — planning coverage, creating cutaways, maintaining continuity and giving yourself the material a clean edit requires.
Day 2 — Colour Grading & Advanced Effects in DaVinci Resolve
Move into DaVinci Resolve’s Colour page with confidence. Correct exposure, white balance and contrast using primary wheels and curves, build a clean node structure, read scopes accurately and apply creative LUTs. On the Cut and Edit pages, work with transitions, speed changes, compound clips and Fusion‑based motion graphics effects to elevate the finished film.
Day 2 — Sound Design & Audio Mastering in Fairlight
Build a professional audio mix inside DaVinci Resolve’s Fairlight page. Clean and repair location audio, design an atmospheric soundscape with foley and ambient layers, score the film with music and apply EQ, compression and limiting to master the final mix to broadcast loudness standards. Export a complete, deliverable‑ready film with video and audio mastered for client or platform delivery.
