What This Workshop
Is About
This workshop is designed for editors who can already navigate DaVinci Resolve and want to close the gap between competent and professional. Over two days you will master multi‑camera editing, advanced timeline management, dynamic trimming and the full range of transition and effects tools on the Cut and Edit pages. You will build complex Fusion compositions for motion graphics, develop a fast, repeatable editing methodology, and work with collaborative tools including bins, shared projects and timeline versioning. Day two focuses on storytelling craft — pacing, rhythm, cutting on action and building tension — so your edits move an audience, not just sequence clips.
What You'll Leave With
Three Outcomes.
One Day.
Apply advanced storytelling and pacing techniques to produce edits that hold attention and drive emotion

Curriculum
What We Cover
Day 2 — Collaboration, Versioning & Professional Delivery
Work the way professionals work. Use DaVinci Resolve’s collaboration tools to manage shared projects, bin locking and simultaneous multi‑user workflows. Create and manage timeline versions for client review, manage offline and online media with relinking, and deliver finished edits across multiple formats and platforms from a single Deliver page render queue.
Day 1 — Advanced Timeline Management & Multi‑Camera Editing
Work at professional speed across complex timelines. Master the full range of trim tools — ripple, roll, slip, slide and dynamic trim — and learn keyboard‑driven editing workflows that eliminate the mouse. Sync, cut and manage multi‑camera footage using the multi‑cam clip workflow, and organise large projects using smart bins, stacked timelines and timeline versions.
Day 1 — Transitions, Effects & Fusion Motion Graphics
Go beyond the basic cut. Apply and customise transitions with precision, work with video and audio effects in the Effects Library, and use adjustment clips to apply changes across multiple layers. Build motion graphics compositions in Fusion — create animated lower thirds, kinetic text and basic compositing using nodes, keyframes and Fusion’s MediaIn–MediaOut workflow.
Day 2 — Storytelling Craft: Pacing, Rhythm & Emotional Arc
Learn to edit with intention and craft. Study the principles of pacing and rhythm — when to cut fast, when to hold, how music drives momentum and how silence creates weight. Practice cutting on action, matching eyelines, building tension through intercutting and constructing an emotional arc that pulls the viewer through the story. Analyse reference edits and apply the techniques to your own sequence.
