What This Workshop
Is About
Most teams already have the best camera available — their smartphone. This intensive one-day workshop teaches you how to use it properly. You will learn how to configure your camera settings for the highest quality footage, use light and composition to make every shot look intentional, and edit your clips into a polished, platform-ready video using CapCut. You will leave with a filming checklist, an editing template and a completed video made on the day.
What You'll Leave With
Three Outcomes.
One Day.
Leave with a repeatable filming and editing system you can use immediately
Edit a finished, platform‑ready vertical video using CapCut on the day
Shoot stable, well‑lit and well‑composed footage with the phone you already own
Curriculum
What We Cover
Mobile Editing with CapCut
Import your footage and build a complete edit from scratch. Trim and arrange clips, clean and balance audio, add captions and on-screen text, apply music and transitions, and export a finished 9:16 vertical video optimised for Instagram Reels, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Camera Setup & Settings
Configure your smartphone for the best possible footage. Learn to shoot in the highest available resolution, lock exposure and focus, enable gridlines for the rule of thirds, clean your lens, and stabilise your phone with both hands or a tripod to eliminate shaky footage.
Lighting & Audio
Understand how light direction and quality transform your footage. Learn to use natural window light, diffused LEDs and reflectors for clean, flattering images. Pair your phone with an affordable lavalier or shotgun microphone to capture clear, professional audio in any environment.
Framing & Composition
Learn the visual principles that make footage look intentional rather than accidental. Apply the rule of thirds, use leading lines and negative space, frame subjects with correct headroom and looking room, and vary your shot sizes to create visual interest and guide the viewer’s eye.
